Progress is being made with preparations for moving to our new site at Tunbridge Airfield.
Among the building infrastructure that will be created at Tunbridge Strip is a new toilet and bathroom facility. We were successful in gaining a Communities Grant from the state Department of Premier and Cabinet (Minor Grants Program). This program funds up to 50% of the cost of providing facilities for public use in a range of sporting and recreational facilities. We were granted $6,182 which is 50% of the predicted material cost for the new bathroom facility.
The bathroom will be constructed at Launceston College’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) workshops by Launceston College VET students and staff as part of the College’s community engagement strategy. It will be constructed on a steel chassis and transported to site in a semi-complete state ready for final fit-out. This facility will be clad in re-purposed corrugated cladding that was formerly used in the Winch Hangar at Woodbury. This material is still in very good condition and will be painted when installed on site.
Club supporters who would like to participate in contributing materials and / or labour for the final fit-out and painting should contact Phil Goss on [telnumlink]0438067051[/telnumlink].
