We are back! Flying operations will be running throughout this long weekend and ongoing.
Normal Covid 19 requirements to apply with a maximum of 20 people on site, masks worn in Glider cockpit for dual flights, sanitising etc.
Contact must be made with Richard Doyle (0419 992 264) prior to attending so that we can manage numbers on site. This requirement will continue for the foreseeable future and applies to members and visitors.
Graham, Phil and Steve will crew on Saturday with Richard and John running the operation on Sunday. Monday crew will be Richard Doyle and John Spilsbury.
Some other good news.
- Gliding Australia (formerly known as the Gliding Federation of Australia) has extended the “Junior” membership to all members under 25 years of age. Previously junior membership only applied to under 18s and full-time students. This represents a significant cost saving. (See GA website for details)
- GA have, in response to Covid 19 lockdown impact on Gliding operations, extended Membership subscriptions for an additional 6 months. Onya Gliding Australia!
Where to find us.
Coming from Hobart (going North)
Turn to the left and travel along Tunbridge Tier Road for 5km’s until you get to Melrose Rd and then turn right. Travel about a kilometre along Melrose Rd until you see the entrance gate to the gliding club which is at the northern end of Tunbridge Airfield, not the southern end.
Coming from Launceston (going South)
Take the Midlands Highway (highway 1), go through Perth, Campbelltown, past Ross, and turn right just before Tunbridge. Travel along Tunbridge Tier Road for 5km’s until you get to Melrose Rd and then turn right. Travel about a kilometre along Melrose Rd until you see the entrance gate to the gliding club which is at the northern end of Tunbridge Airfield, not the southern end.
If you have to open a gate to go through, you MUST shut it. If the farmer’s sheep get into the wrong paddocks we’ll be extremely unpopular.
