Introductory Flights
Air Experience Flights — also known as Trial Introductory Flights — are conducted in a dual-controlled training glider with one of our qualified instructors. They are designed to give you a genuine first experience of gliding and an introduction to what training looks like for those considering learning to fly.
Your instructor will walk you through the features of our two-seat IS-28B2 training glider during a ground briefing before you climb in. Our Eurofox tow aircraft will then pull you aloft to your release height, at which point the tow rope is cast off and the silence of unpowered flight begins.
From there, you seek out rising air — thermals — to climb and extend your flight on nothing but solar energy. More often than not, you'll find an eagle sharing the same thermal.
Your instructor performs the takeoff and landing. In between, you'll have the opportunity to take the controls yourself under their guidance.
